Our dog shouldn't be too small, it shouldn't eat too much, should be short haired, a home guardian, nice and lovable at the same time. We need a family orientated dog to join us for trips and fishing! These were our main criterias when my parents and myself moved to the town of Érd and decided that our new family house needed a guard dog, too. We had considered quite a few breeds before, guided by our original criterias, our choice fell upon amstaff terrier even though my mother strongly objected the idea at first. Having read a lot of books, articles and dog magazines I knew for sure that amstaff was the perfect dog for us.
Soon a good friend of mine introduced me to a hobby amstaff breeder who had a litter of puppies at the time and still had a female puppy available. Her name was Harmat Aria Mesalin and she matched all the descriptions of amstaffs I had read up to that point: she was lovely,  nice,  clever, combative if necessary, a real family member.
At Strázsa Dog School  located at Népliget, we started to learn the intricacies of obediance, protection and agility tasks step by step.
Then, one  Saturday, after our usual  training session we witnessed  quite an unusual event: the wonderful world of dog shows! MKSZ  State Terrier Club organized its traditional club show precisely at that place. It was then that I met Mr. József Fehér (HoowerDam kennel) and Ms Szilvi Hartai (Pentaréti kennel) who told me a lot about that particular  show and dog shows in general.

I took part in a few shows organized by MKSZ and MEOE, I handled Mesalin, but it soon became clear that, even though for  my family and myself she was the most beautiful dog in the world, she was not a real show dog. Mesalin still lives happily with my mother who admires her.We bought our second and third dog in 1999 and 2001 (Belfegor and Iceman), after a long search, this time having in mind show dog criterias. The breeder was late  Mrs Égi Jenõne (First of Goldstar kennel). We learned a lot about dogs from this lady and we were very successful both in Hungary and abroad. Iceman even reached Inter champion title.Another main event in my life also happened at Strázsa Dog School where I met my wife Beatrix Fábián, again at a dog show organized by MKSZ OTK. She was there with her airedale terrier and I was handling Iceman. At first she showed some aversion to Iceman, she was even afraid of him, but soon she fell in love with the breed and became a top amstaff handler. Iceman can be proud not only of his show titles, but also of giving top quality offsprings. In this way he helped us make many new friends both at home and abroad: Vasszi Zoltán (Tiger Tatto's kennel), Boros Zoltán (Backwoods kennel),Rade Dakic Kica (Franstal kennel) and Piergiorgio Lievore (Lievore's kennel).Beatrix and myself soon moved to a new family house and started our bumpy ride into the world of amstaff to which we would like to give our own personal touch, contribution, trademark as it were. We would like to create a homogeneous line with the character and  appearance that, in our view, best represents the breed. A real amstaff is brave, persistent and gives the impression of great strength and good health. At the same time it is infinitely graceful and a bit arrogant  a real James Bond in the world of dogs.Having carefully studied ICEMAN's pedigree we got in touch with the world famous  Tipit Z Hanky Kennel and after exchanging a lot of letters and having waited for a long time we bought Ness Tipit Z Hanky in 2002   our foundation female. On sire's side Nessy is  Fraja's bloodline, dam is Kamikaze Tipit Z Hanky, thus taking us back to Tipit Z Hanky type of female.
One year later, in summer 2003 we got a female called Dafne from  a good friend of mine Mr. Piergiorgio Lievore from Italy. Dafne was another female we based our breeding upon. Dafne performed great both in shows and later on in giving top quality offsprings. She is an important part of our kennel's history and, if I may say, of Hungarian amstaff history, as well. Dafne carries Tipit Z Hanky's bloodlines from sire's side and Cloverhill's bloodlines from dam's side, she has a beautiful head and wonderful brindle coat.

In 2004 I personally met Ms Bonnie C.Gottert (Fraja NE kennel) and agreed with her to send her Dafne with an obvious aim that Dafne should take part in American National Speciality Show the most prestigeous amstaff show in America. Dafne was up to the task and in December 2004 she was the first Hungarian-owned dog ever who won American champion title. Having returned home Dafne won a lot of domestic titles as well.In 2005 Dafne's first litter was born, the second litter of Fianna Kennel. On sire's  side  it meant American bloodlines once again, for while at Fraja Ne Kennel, Dafne mated with Fraja Ne Ticketmasterrel (who now lives in Brazil) thus bringing to world  Bigris Tigris of Fianna and  Böbe of Fianna, just to name the two most famous of the puppies.Böbe of Fianna was perhaps our most famous dog before November 2006, but after that she surely became our most famous dog having won BOB World champion title at FCI  World Dog Show in Poznan. This exibition had a record 411 registered dogs. Having won BOB, Böbe was ranked second among all terriers and as such she also stood proudly on the platform during the Best in Show, handled by the nicest of all handlers - Beatrix Fábián.After this great success I got a chance to take part in Kentucky Cluster series of shows in Louisville, America taking Böbe and Dante of Fianna there. Handled by Ms Laura King and myself Böbe won American Champion title and became the first Hungarian-bred dog ever to reach that title. In November 2007 a long waited for litter of puppies came to the world: Sire - USA.CH Fraja EC Golden Boy, one of the most famous amstaffs in America, aged 10 and Dam is our USA champion Dafne. The puppies are hardly weeks old, but we already lay big hopes in them, especially in little Indiana who resembles Böbe so much  American Fraja, Sindelars, Wood's, as well as Czech Tipit Z Hanky bloodlines influenced our breeding goals considerably, as we mentioned before. We also consider  Don King of Rings and  Fabled Don King of Rings very important in today's world of amstaff. We do our best to find the best owners and homes for our puppies, that is why we are very selective when it comes to potential buyers. Dog lovers who would like to have  a puppy from Fianna Kennel can choose a puppy only after waiting patiently (we have 1-2 litters a year only) and booking in advance. At the moment we are enthusiastic about a couple of interesting and promising matings which can bring top offsprings. At the same time we are very concerned about the popularity boom this breed currently enjoys in Hungary. New kennels keep arising, selling puppies is the main issue and we hope this tendency  will not cause harm to this wonderful breed. In 2008 Budapest is organizing the biggest dog show in Europe  The European Dog Show. This is a great opportunity to see all top European dogs at one place and to make comparisons between them and our dogs. Some excellent names among judges are a guarantee that a great number of dogs will take part. This is a new chance to prove that our amstaffs are among the leading kennels  in Europe. We are also registering a few dogs that have been successful both at home and in Europe. Among them are: Red Baroness of Fianna (Boros Brigitta&Dezsõ Árpád) 2005 Luxemburg Junior champion, first Hungarian dog with this title, A Ticket to America of Fianna (Kaisa Metteri Gold&Mika Kotiniemi) a Finn owned 2006 European  Group Winner in  Helsiknki, A Black Mirage of Fianna (Dudok Richard) that was Club Winner and BOB in Estonia. This was the "A" litter that we are grateful to Royal Court Carbon Copynak and Ness Tipit Z Hanky. Bigris Tigris of Fianna who already won champion title in a few countries and waiting for Inter champion title,  Cookie Monster of Fianna (Somogyi Béla) that won Junior Best in Show title at CACIB in Pécs in 2006, or our youngest hope  Dante of Fianna (Ambrus Viktória&Rákay Zoltán) who won Reserve Junior Europe champion in Zagreb in 2007, Junior Best in Show in Budapest, Székesfehérvár, Osijek and Bratislava and, int he same period scored points for AKC. We mustn't forget our newly imported male  Fabled Don King of Rings either ( WW2006-EU2007 Don King of Ring's younger brother) who after a few  Junior Bis titles also won BOB at Terrier Club Show in 2007. He won both  Junior BIS and  Best In Show title and then left for USA where he quickly won American champion title as well.
In 2006 we earned Bronze-Wreath Masterbreeder title from MEOE, a prize for our breeding results. These results, however, could not have been achieved without a lot of help from our friends, other breeders  and happy owners of dogs coming from Fianna Kennel. This may sound as a cliche, but without all these people this would really not have been possible. Apart from handling our own dogs, quite a few famous European kennels trust us with their dogs, We have reached  lots of BOBs and Group Winners, like  with one of the best dogs in Hungary today, John Bull Fekete Domino owned by Mr. Laszló S. Nagy.
In summer 2007, however, the biggest pride of our kennel was born - our daughter Alina.
