Our dog shouldn’t be too small, it shouldn’t eat too much, should be short haired, a home guardian, nice and lovable at the same time. We need a family orientated dog to join us for trips and fishing! These were our main criterias when my parents and myself moved to the town of Érd and decided that our new family house needed a guard dog, too. We had considered quite a few breeds before, guided by our original criterias, our choice fell upon amstaff terrier even though my mother strongly objected the idea at first. Having read a lot of books, articles and dog magazines I knew for sure that amstaff was the perfect dog for us.
Soon a good friend of mine introduced me to a hobby amstaff breeder who had a litter of puppies at the time and still had a female puppy available. Her name was Harmat Aria Mesalin and she matched all the descriptions of amstaffs I had read up to that point: she was lovely,  nice,  clever, combative if necessary, a real family member.
At „Strázsa Dog School”  located at Népliget, we started to learn the intricacies of obediance, protection and agility tasks step by step.
Then, one  Saturday, after our usual  training session we witnessed  quite an unusual event: the wonderful world of dog shows! MKSZ  State Terrier Club organized its traditional club show precisely at that place. It was then that I met Mr. József Fehér (HoowerDam kennel) and Ms Szilvi Hartai (Pentaréti kennel) who told me a lot about that particular  show and dog shows in general.
I took part in a few shows organized by MKSZ and MEOE, I handled Mesalin, but it soon became clear that, even though for  my family and myself she was the most beautiful dog in the world, she was not a real show dog. Mesalin still lives happily with my mother who admires her.
We bought our second and third dog in 1999 and 2001 (Belfegor and Iceman), after a long search, this time having in mind show dog criterias. The breeder was late  Mrs Égi Jenőne (First of Goldstar kennel). We learned a lot about dogs from this lady and we were very successful both in Hungary and abroad. Iceman even reached Inter champion title.
Another main event in my life also happened at „Strázsa Dog School” where I met my wife Beatrix Fábián, again at a dog show organized by MKSZ OTK. She was there with her airedale terrier and I was handling Iceman. At first she showed some aversion to Iceman, she was even afraid of him, but soon she fell in love with the breed and became a top amstaff handler. Iceman can be proud not only of his show titles, but also of giving top quality offsprings. In this way he helped us make many new friends both at home and abroad: Vasszi Zoltán (Tiger Tatto’s kennel), Boros Zoltán (Backwoods kennel),Rade Dakic Kica (Franstal kennel) and Piergiorgio Lievore (Lievore’s kennel).
Beatrix and myself soon moved to a new family house and started our bumpy ride into the world of amstaff to which we would like to give our own personal touch, contribution, trademark as it were. We would like to create a homogeneous line with the character and  appearance that, in our view, best represents the breed. A real amstaff is brave, persistent and gives the impression of great strength and good health. At the same time it is infinitely graceful and a bit arrogant –  a real James Bond in the world of dogs.
Having carefully studied ICEMAN’s pedigree we got in touch with the world famous  Tipit Z Hanky Kennel and after exchanging a lot of letters and having waited for a long time we bought Ness Tipit Z Hanky in 2002 –  our foundation female. On sire’s side Nessy is  Fraja’s bloodline, dam is Kamikaze Tipit Z Hanky, thus taking us back to Tipit Z Hanky type of female.
One year later, in summer 2003 we got a female called Dafne from  a good friend of mine Mr. Piergiorgio Lievore from Italy. Dafne was another female we based our breeding upon. Dafne performed great both in shows and later on in giving top quality offsprings. She is an important part of our kennel’s history and, if I may say, of Hungarian amstaff history, as well. Dafne carries Tipit Z Hanky’s bloodlines from sire’s side and Cloverhill’s bloodlines from dam’s side, she has a beautiful head and wonderful brindle coat.
In 2004 I personally met Ms Bonnie C.Gottert (Fraja NE kennel) and agreed with her to send her Dafne with an obvious aim that Dafne should take part in American National Speciality Show– the most prestigeous amstaff show in America. Dafne was up to the task and in December 2004 she was the first Hungarian-owned dog ever who won American champion title. Having returned home Dafne won a lot of domestic titles as well.
In 2005 Dafne’s first litter was born, the second litter of Fianna Kennel. On sire’s ’ side  it meant American bloodlines once again, for while at Fraja Ne Kennel, Dafne mated with Fraja Ne Ticketmasterrel (who now lives in Brazil) thus bringing to world  Bigris Tigris of Fianna and  Böbe of Fianna, just to name the two most famous of the puppies.
